Mark Sampson is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Sandown Equity Partners. In this capacity, he is responsible for deal origination and structuring, sector strategy, and capital markets activities. He is a member of the Executive and Investment Committees.
Prior to co-founding Sandown Equity Partners, Mr. Mazza served as Chief Financial Officer of XCEL Wetsuits. Prior to XCEL, Mr. Sampson held senior leadership roles across multiple successful private equity firms, including Vintage Capital Partners and Pacific Growth Investors. Across these platforms, Mr. Sampson led all aspects of the investment lifecycle – from origination and structuring to governance and value creation. His experience reflects a consistent focus on disciplined capital deployment in complex, operationally intensive businesses. Mr. Sampson began his career with Credit Suisse, where he focused on sourcing, structuring, and managing senior debt financings for middle-market companies.
Mr. Sampson received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
