James Mazza is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Sandown Equity Partners. In this capacity, he is responsible for deal structuring and due diligence, sector strategy, and portfolio management. He is a member of the Executive and Investment Committees.
Prior to co-founding Sandown Equity Partners, Mr. Mazza served as President of XCEL Wetsuits, where he led a successful turnaround of the storied brand. Prior to XCEL, Mr. Mazza was the Head of West Coast coverage for Gladstone Capital, a publicly traded BDC. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mazza was a Vice President at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm. Mr. Mazza began his career in banking, most recently working in HSBC’s Investment Banking Division in London.
Mr. Mazza received a B.A. in Economics from Boston University and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.
